Traditional Kambô Ceremony, from the Amazon Indigenous

We are deeply honoured to welcome Siã Inu Bake, Huni Kuin elder and Kambô Master from the Brazilian Amazon, for a very intimate ceremony in the Netherlands.

Siã comes from Aldeia São Francisco in Acre and carries ancestral knowledge of Kambô, prayer and the traditional teachings of his people.

What is Kambô?
Kambô is the secretion of the Phyllomedusa bicolor, a frog native to the Amazon rainforest.
For generations, Indigenous peoples of the Amazon have worked with Kambô in practices connected with cleansing, strength, resilience and preparation.
Kambô is not mind altering.
It produces a strong physiological response in the body that usually begins quickly and is relatively short in duration.

What to expect:
Small superficial points, traditionally called gates, are made on the skin and the Kambô is applied.
The response can include heat, increased heart rate, sweating, nausea, purging, dizziness and temporary swelling.
The most intense part of the process is generally short, followed by time to rest and recover.

Throughout the gathering, Siã will also bring traditional prayers, holding the work within the spiritual and ancestral context from which this medicine comes.

Afterwards, we will share a light nourishing soup together.

This gathering is a rare opportunity to receive Kambô directly with an Indigenous elder and master of this medicine, held within the presence of traditional prayers and the Huni Kuin lineage.

Preparation:
Fasting is very welcome, but it is not mandatory.
If you prefer to eat in the morning, please have a light breakfast at least three hours before receiving Kambô.
We recommend keeping your breakfast simple and light, so your body can move through the Kambô process more comfortably.

Health guidelines:
Kambô is a physically intense practice and is not suitable for everyone.
You should not participate if you are pregnant or suspect pregnancy, or if you have serious cardiovascular conditions, a history of stroke or brain haemorrhage, aneurysm or blood clots, severe epilepsy, or certain other serious medical conditions.
