The Living Rhythms of Kirtan: Mrdanga Immersion

À propos de cet événement

The Bhakti Groove presents:

THE LIVING RHYTHM OF KIRTAN
Mṛdaṅga Immersion with Murti

During this special immersion day, Murti shares his deep love and enthusiasm for the sacred Bengali drum tradition in a way that is both grounded and contagious. Expect a day filled with rhythm, repetition, musical exploration, laughter, devotion and collective practice.

This immersion is intended FOR PEOPLE WHO ALREADY HAVE SOME EXPERIENCE with mṛdaṅga and feel inspired to deepen their relationship with devotional rhythm and kirtan accompaniment.

Together we may explore:
• traditional mṛdaṅga rhythms and techniques
• coordination and flow
• practical accompaniment in kirtan
• building and sustaining kirtan energy
• listening and musical interaction
• the devotional mood behind rhythm
• playfulness and spontaneity in music
• deepening relationship with mantra through rhythm and repetition

A mṛdaṅga is included for use during the workshop, though of course you are very welcome to bring your own instrument.

ABOUT OUR SPECIAL GUEST

MURTI 🎶 has been participating in bhakti-kirtans since his childhood and has specialized in the art of mṛdaṅga, the sacred drum from Bengal.
Deeply inspired by the Gauḍīya Vaiṣṇava tradition, he weaves traditional Indian rythms and devotional singing, creating a spiritual and grounded energy to his playing and teaching. He has been facilitating kirtans, workshops, and immersions across Europe and beyond for several years, always emphasizing presence, devotion, rather than performance.
