Sounds of 3 Worlds

Three Worlds / One Room
An Evening of Cross-Cultural Sound

After eight years of international arena touring, American pianist Laura Scarborough has returned to Den Haag with a new focus, original music & local collaborations. Connecting her Austin musical community with Den Haag's own, she is curating an intimate evening of listening music at SoundHouse, bringing together artists from three corners of the world.

Revel Sound Collective opens the evening with a sound journey moving through stillness, emotion, and rhythm featuring Joy Rae (voice, crystal singing bowls), Laura Scarborough (piano, keys, voice, flute), and Eddie Van Dongen (handpan, percussion). Joy and Eddie also lead a thriving sound healing school here in Den Haag.

Alfian Emir Adytia, known as Emir Cello, follows with original and classical works rooted in Indonesian tradition and shaped by his classical training in Europe, joined by Laura Scarborough on piano. Emir comes fresh off his acclaimed 2025 album Decolmuseum — a genre-defying record weaving cello, Indonesian folk, and progressive rock into a reflection on cultural memory and resilience.

The evening closes with Indrajit Banerjee, sitar master from Austin, Texas — a musician who has performed in over 40 countries, recorded eight studio albums spanning classical to jazz fusion, and composed for award-winning films, accompanied by Padit Sandip Bhattcharya on tabla and joined by musicians from the evening.

Between them, the performers carry the sounds of India, Indonesia, and the Americas into one intimate room.
