Joy in Meditation
Joy in Meditation grew out of my desire to invite people into a genuine encounter with themselves — not in order to become a better version of themselves, but to discover more deeply who they truly are.
So much of what we do in life is directed towards feeling better: getting rid of pain, overcoming insecurity, changing old patterns or becoming more of who we think we should be. This longing is deeply human. And yet I have experienced that something essential can shift when, instead of trying to move away from what we feel, we turn towards it with curiosity and the accepting energy of the heart.
What happens when you stop trying to change yourself and become truly present with what is alive within you?
In my workshops, group days and retreats, I work with approaches including Family Constellations, Transformation through Dance, active Osho meditations, meditation and body-oriented awareness. Sometimes an inner process asks for silence and slowing down. At other times, movement, sound, expression or dance may open a door. The body has an important place in my work because it can make visible and tangible what may be difficult to reach through words alone.
My professional background is broad. I worked as a medical doctor from 1988 to 2012 and, alongside this, trained in Gestalt therapy, emotional bodywork, Family Constellations, Dance Alchemy and the three-year Somatic Experiencing® training. Meditation has been an essential part of my own life and work for many years.
Yet for me, the methods themselves are not the most important part. They are doorways. What matters is creating a space in which you can listen to what is arising within you and where even those parts of your experience that you might rather not feel can be welcomed.
I work from a place of equality. I do not believe that I know what needs to happen to you or who you need to become. I can be alongside you, observe, ask questions, slow things down when needed and invite you to discover through your own experience what is true for you.
There is room for both depth and lightness. Sadness, fear, anger or shame do not have to be pushed away, but neither do we need to be occupied with our pain all the time. There can also be laughter, playfulness, movement, dancing and enjoyment.
For me, personal transformation is not only about changing patterns. It can also be about recognising, more and more deeply, something that is already here beneath them: your essence, your aliveness, and the awareness through which you can experience whatever is present.
You do not have to become different first. You are welcome as you are, with whatever is alive in you at this moment.
